Pro Football HOF chief names his Top 5 "dream team" of legends enshrined in Canton, Ohio
Updated: Nov 20, 2020
Pro Football Hall of Fame CEO C. David Baker says Chicago Bears founder and original owner George "Papa Bear" Halas tops his list of favorite legends enshrined in Canton, Ohio. Baker told the No Backing Down Podcast there's a reason the football Hall of Fame's official address is "2121 George Halas Drive." "He's the Papa Bear. He's the one who started it. He was in that original room with 15 guys," Baker said in a November 3 interview with NBD podcast host Sean Stellato. There are 346 members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame - 174 of whom are living. The inaugural class of inductees was enshrined in September 1963. Baker told Stellato it was difficult to name favorites. The podcast host and author of the Amazon bestseller "No Backing Down" asked the Hall of Fame CEO his "five-person dream team" made up of an owner, head coach, quarterback, wide receiver and running back - chosen from the 346 Hall of Famers enshrined in Canton. "It's like when people say you don't have a favorite, because you love each one," Baker said. "Each one is special. That's exactly what it is with these guys." Baker said for head coach on his five-person dream team, "I think the guy you have to go with is the guy with the most wins, (and) that's Don Shula. You've got to go with the guy who won the most ballgames." Listen to Baker's complete interview on the No Backing Down Podcast to learn his Dream Team selections for QB, wide receiver and running back among Hall of Fame members.
